Jennifer Sullivan is the parent of two student-athletes in the Enid Public School system. She enjoys being a part of their athletic careers and cheering them on as they compete. “In the big picture, we as parents, have a very small window of time to impact our kids, get them ready to live life as successful, functioning adults, and teach them the things of God so they can grow to know him themselves,” she said. “Someone once taught me, you have to meet people where they are. My family loves sports, so therefore we prioritize that. I could care less about the success they have or don’t have. I want them to work their hardest and put in the time, be respectful to others on their teams and to their coaches, and  be an example no matter what role they play on that team.”

Sullivan’s son Brock is a sophomore at Enid High School. He plays football and baseball as well as playing trombone in the high school jazz band. Her daughter is an eighth grader at Waller Middle School. She plays volleyball and basketball, and is also a percussionist in the band and jazz band.

An Enid girl, born and raised, Jennifer did not play athletics in school, but she was still involved in other things.  “I was a tall girl with no athletic ability to speak of,” she said. “I did sing the national anthem at sporting events. But my passion was with music. I did everything that I could with the vocal music department with musicals, choir, select choir, show choir.  Mr. Randy Johnson was my lifeline in highschool. He greatly impacted my high school years and my love for music.”

As a lifelong resident of Enid, Sullivan is proud to have her family be a part of this community. “The Enid school and community really steps up to help in so many areas,” she said. “The school administration does a great job of supporting its students and teachers, as well as all the other groups around the district. We are so blessed to raise our kids in such a great town.”
