You must be tough to play in the paint. For the Lady Pacers of Enid, Kyra Criss is that player. Head coach Nina Gregory said of Criss, “She’s an undersized post player that is strong and has a great sense for the ball around the rim. She has great hands and is a great rebounder.”
We wanted to know more about this sophomore and so we caught up with her just as the regular season came to a close.
VYPE: Kyra, how long have you played basketball?
Criss: I have been playing for five years.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at Enid?
Criss: My teammates mean so much to me, we argue and get on each other’s nerves like sisters, but when it’s time for us to stand together on the court we dominate.
VYPE: What do you love about being a student-athlete at Enid High School?
Criss: The thing I love most about being a student-athlete at Enid High School is that I am able to pursue my sports while being surrounded by family and friends.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing with your free time when you have it?
Criss: When I am not at church or at my other sports; I enjoy hanging with my teammates.
