Golf has been a part of Elisabeth Armstrong’s life for as long as she can remember. She was first introduced to the sport by her grandpa and her dad as a little kid and she has played ever since. Over the years, she has grown and seen her game improve because of the work that she has put in. 

“It has taken a lot of determination in order to become the player that I am today,” she said. “My family is important to me so making them proud is one of the things that motivates me the most. Also seeing myself become better with each round that I play pushes me to work harder as well.”

Armstrong is a senior at Enid High School where she is a member of the varsity pom team and the varsity golf team. She is also a part of the Platinum E Community Service Group. With family being important to her, it is no surprise that her family would have some of the biggest impacts on her life.

“My biggest influences would be my mom and my dad,” she said. “They have always pushed me to do things that I never thought I was capable of doing. They are my biggest supporters and always have my back.  I am forever thankful to have parents like them. My biggest role models are my big brothers. They have always been there to pick me up when I needed someone, and they always give me the best advice. I look up to each one of them. I would not be who I am today without these people.”Throughout all of the years that she has played golf, Elisabeth says that she has enjoyed a lot of really great moments, but she does know that there is one moment that has been her biggest.
“ I would have to say that the highlight moment of my time on the course would have to be when the varsity girls won regionals and I placed third,” she said. “We play a few different teams, and I would say that my favorite one to go against would have to be Ponca City because they are our rivals.”
