Enid Plainsmen Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by NBC Bank

Coach: Jonathan Reed

2021-22 Record: 4-16

Following a difficult growing season the Enid Plainsmen basketball team is ready to rebound and hit the court this year with big expectations. While Enid basketball is once again fairly young, they are not lacking in talent. The Plainsmen are an athletic team from top to bottom and play with lots of energy. “Our strength will be our defense and ability to score from multiple positions on the floor,” said head coach Jonathan Reed.

Tre Davis (6-6, So.) is a VYPE Top 100 player with the size and athleticism to play at the next level. While only a sophomore he has a fundamental understanding of the game and knows how to let opportunities come to him on the court. Davis can play an old school style of ball too and dominate in the paint with his back to the basket or finish around the rim with power or finesse. Ayden Iverson (6-0, Jr.) is a floor general and scoring threat. He plays both sides of the ball with tenacity and never takes a play off. Iverson is capable of scoring on his own while also getting his teammates involved with open looks.

Jonathan Reed (6-1, So.) is a skilled player that can score on all levels. He has a high basketball IQ and an even higher ceiling. Expect big things from this sophomore over the next two years out of Enid. Brandon Sears (5-8, Jr.) is one of the hardest working players on the team. He does all the little things right and never complains and competes every day.

Other players to look for include: Zyire Allen (6-1, So.), Chase Cotarelo (6-1, So.), John Smith (6-3, Jr.), Jaron Porter (5-11, Jr.), Torvante Washington (5-4, So.), James Pugh (5-11, So.), Sam Blakenship (6-0, Sr.), and Evante Warren (6-7, Sr.).
