9 Questions with Enid’s Kenlee Adams – Presented by Enid Tag Agency

VYPE: What grade are you currently in and how long have you been playing softball?

Kenlee Adams: I am currently a sophomore at Enid High School. I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old when I was introduced to a bat, glove and a ball!

VYPE: What other clubs or groups are you involved with at school?

KA: I am a member of the varsity cheerleading team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and involved in the yearbook staff at Enid High School. In addition to being a student-athlete, I am also on a travel softball team-Hotshots National 16U Naudin based out of Dallas, TX.

VYPE: What is your favorite school subject and who is your favorite teacher?

KA: My favorite school subject is math and my favorite teacher is Mr. Damon McKinney.

VYPE: What are your plans for after graduation?

KA: My plans after graduation are still to be determined, but I have a couple of ideas. I can see myself continuing my dream of playing softball at the collegiate level and continuing to foster my love for the game! Or perhaps, land my feet on the field and play with the Air Force Academy! Furthering my education in forensics is at the top of my list!

VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life and why?

KA: My parents have been my biggest influence in my life! My mom is my fierce leader. She went to college on a softball scholarship and is the one who has influenced me to play the game of softball. I can’t discount my dad, who is still a kid at heart, and has never played but acts like it! My parents – who have loved me, pushed me, believed in me, and prayed for me – have made me the person I am today, on and off the field. I am forever grateful, thankful and blessed to have my mom and dad right by my side!

VYPE: Who is the loudest teammate in the dugout?

KA: The loudest teammate in the dugout, who is a great teammate and friend to many, is Julie Starzman.

VYPE: What position do you play and what position would you like to play?

KA: I currently play 3rd base and I love it! I am also a utility player, so that means I have had the opportunity to play everywhere on the field!

VYPE: What opponent do you look forward to playing this season?

KA: The opponent that I look forward to playing this season is all of them! Trust the process one game at a time, practice makes progress, stay focused and be positive! I want to win it all!!! TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAMWORK!!!

VYPE: What is your thought process at the plate?

KA: My thought process at the plate is to be the one to get it done! Stay calm and take my hands through the ball. I always tell myself “I CAN AND I WILL”, which is something my grandma always said to me! The bombs that I hit are for God to be the Glory in everything I do!!!

VYPE: Here is your chance to nominate another teammate for a similar VYPE article, all we need is their name and number.

KA: I would like to nominate Gracie Combrink
