Athletes work hard in preparation so that they can be at the top of their game when they compete. With all that time and effort, it is a great feeling to see that work pay off. Jette White is a golfer at Enid High School and he has had some memorable moments on the course but has one that stands out the most.
“My biggest accomplishment was having two rounds under 80 in my first year of being on the varsity team,” he said.
White is a sophomore and along with being on the golf team, he is also a part of the choir. Over his career, Jette has had several people that have made an impact and helped shape him into who he is today.
“My mom is one of my biggest influences because she pushes me to give my all and make me a better person,” he said. “Also, coach Dunham has pushed me to always try my hardest and give it my best shot. A teammate that has helped me grow is Peter Shepherd. Our scoring averages are close to the same and it’s always a great time and a good competition playing against him.”
Being able to represent Enid when he is on the golf course is something that Jette is proud to be able to do.
“I’m always thinking of the community that we have supporting our golf team and school,” he stated. “I always go out there and have a good attitude and have a good representation of our school and community.”
Jette works hard to be successful on the golf course, but he also invests the same amount of effort in his work in the classroom.
“It’s very hard to balance being a straight A student and a varsity golfer but I find a way to figure it out,” he said.
