2021 Record: 3-7
Defense
The Plainsmen defense is bringing back six starters from last season’s squad, so growth from where they were last season is expected. Defensive end Donovan Reiman (6-3, 240 Sr.) brings a combination of speed and strength to the position. Along with being a solid player, he is also a great athlete and the hardest worker on the team. He will be leaned upon to keep the opposing quarterback at bay. Joining Reiman on the line is Omar Penate (5-10, 260, Jr.). The trio of Alex Macias (6-0, 190, Sr.), Daigen Gibbens (6-0, 175, Sr.), and Reese Slater (6-0, 170, Sr.) will be protecting the secondary and looking to disrupt any thoughts of opponents passing game. Playing at the linebacker position will be Carlos Alverado (5-10, 215, Jr.) and he is looking forward to a big season. Woods says that Seth Carlson (6-1, 180, So.) is a young player that people should keep an eye on. “He played every game as a freshman and has the God-given skill to play with anybody in the state.”
