Enid’s Kaydence McBroom – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by Advantage Eye Care

For junior Kaydence McBroom, donning an Enid cheer uniform is a way of expressing herself, something she found out at a young age.

“I learned to love cheer in the fifth grade,” McBroom said. “I joined a competitive team at Spirit Express. Cheer has always given me a way to express myself, whether it’s chanting on the sideline or tumbling on the competition floor.

“The upcoming season is looking great,” McBroom added. “We have a young team who is willing to learn and work hard. The morale is positive overall, and we are looking forward to taking our great attitudes to the OSSAA Game Day Competition.”

McBroom said as a junior, being in a position to help influence the younger cheerleaders motivates her to be a better person daily.

“There are several things I do to make the underclassmen feel welcomed,” she said. “Bonding, group chats, always letting them know I’m there for them, and helping them out with learning the cheers and dances are just a few.”

McBroom added that she also has a goal this season to be the best leader she can possibly be.

“I want us as a team to become closer,” she said. “At this year’s competition I want us to have fun and do our very best on the mat.”

When she’s not cheering, McBroom said she’s hanging out with her best friends and family.
