Enid’s Palmer Pasby – Presented by Security National Bank

Support is something that’s always so important to an athlete. It’s not always monetary support that leaves the greatest impact, but the kind you are unable to measure. For Palmer Pasby, her two best friends, Andee and Cassidy, have been her greatest positive impacts. She says that they’ve been through so much together and she truly doesn’t know what she’d do without them. They have been playing on the same softball team together since they were 8 years old.

Palmer participates in softball, golf, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is a sophomore at Enid High School. Her favorite subjects are Chemistry and Biology, explaining that she enjoys conducting experiments and dissections. Her favorite teacher is Mr. Snider, because he made her want to learn about history and taught the material very well.

The highest moment in Palmer’s athletic career so far, was when she hit the tying run and scored the winning run in their first game of the season against Norman North. “It was a great win. I think it set the perfect tone for our season,” she says. When she was just a freshman, she was awarded All-District, All-Conference, and All-Northwest Oklahoma Catcher of the Year. After high school, Palmer plans to play softball at the collegiate level, while studying for a Masters in Bio-Chemistry. In her free time, she likes to work out, listen to music, and sleep.

The person that’s been the greatest role model for Palmer has been her sister, Paden. “She’s one of my best friends and I’ve learned a lot from her over the years. She’s very independent and strong, and I strive to be like her everyday,” Palmer says.

For Palmer, being a great athlete means you have to be passionate, disciplined, and hard working. Sports have taught her how to fail. She says “I’ve learned to use my failures to my advantage and against my opponents.” Her advice to her fellow athletes is to surround yourself with people who lift you up and don’t tear you down.
