Katelyn Honigsberg likes to read! No, seriously, she loves to read!
Katelyn Honigsberg, 18, (I interviewed her on her birthday) is a senior at Enid High School. She is Senior Class Vice President, throws shot and discus for the Pacer Track program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) leadership team and interns in the District Attorney office. She is also an assistant volleyball coach for a club team.
Katelyn loves to buy books and read. She has written a book named A Tale of Darkness and Light. It is a fantasy tale about two kingdoms coming together to conquer an evil third kingdom. The book is self-published book and contains about 120,000words. She is also working on a children’s book for her little sister Michaelynn. She calls her writing style “young adult” and is fantasy prone.
Katelyn is part of the FCA Leadership Team. She takes care of communications for a very successful, active huddle at EHS. They have been part of several fun activities like OU Game Day, Fields of Faith, See you at the Pole and regular meetings each month. One of the FCA sponsors, Jennifer Sullivan, talked about Katelyn. She has been on the Enid High FCA Leadership team for three years. She is reliable, always brings a positive attitude and has such a servant heart. Jennifer summed it up calling Katelyn “a blessing” and added “God shines through her is so many ways.” Katelyn will be attending the FCA Passion Conference in Atlanta in August.
Katelyn has many special people in her life and has a special memory of a family baptism. Her baptism along with her two sisters, one brother and her stepmom was memorable to her and her walk with Christ. She also mentioned a fun memory of a food fight her family had nine years ago. Her mom started it!
Honigsberg is fired up about track this year. She wants to beat her personal best records of 29 feet in the shotput and 92 feet in the discus.
