Enid’s Dallas Darrow – Presented by Advantage Eye Care

Success is something that everyone strives for, no matter what they are doing in life. We all want to be at the top of our respective group. And high school student athletes are no different. Dallas Darrow says that, while it may be tough at times, he is working towards a bigger goal.

“It takes a lot to be your best,” he said. “There is a lot of hard work, commitment, and putting in the effort year-round. I want to be the best baseball player that I can be.”

Darrow is a junior at Enid High School. He pitches and plays first base for the school’s baseball team. Outside of athletics, he is also a part of the school choir and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Throughout his life, there have been people that have had an impact on his life and helped Dallas become the player and the person that he is today.

“My biggest role models are my parents,” he said. “They set a good Christian example every day and they are the hardest workers I know. Also, my middle school weight coach, coach Dobbs, had an impact on my life. He is the one that got me into lifting weights and getting stronger.”

When he steps on the baseball field, Darrow is proud to be able to wear the Plainsmen uniform and everything that comes with it.

“I take a lot of pride in representing my school and community,” he said. “It’s an honor to play for coach Gore and the Enid baseball team. The highlight of my career would have to be being able to be a part of a baseball state tournament team last year.”

Dallas knows that in order to be successful on the field, he has to first be successful in the classroom. And in order to do that, he knows he has to have a plan.

“School work always comes first,” Darrow said. “You just have to remind yourself that you’re a student athlete and student comes first.”
