It is a very interesting experience for me to talk with high school students about their high school journeys. Yes, journeys, because they all have multiple things going on at once. That’s just part of high school, growing up and learning how to manage your time,
Emma Sullivan,18, is a senior at Enid High School. She is on her senior journey being involved in Pacer varsity volleyball, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), Choir, Student Council, school play, NHS and PAC and her church.
She is in the middle of her volleyball season. I talked with her coach, Val Francisco, and she had so many good things to say about the leadership of Sullivan. She plays middle, great teammate, keeps everything together and can compete at the next level. Sullivan talked about playing at the next level. She is taking visits to interested schools.
Emma is involved with FCA. She went to FCA Camp this past summer and had a “blast’! It helped her come out of her shell and make new friends she still stays in touch with. She is part of the FCA Leadership Team and her parents are sponsors. The Sullivan family has had a big influence on EHS FCA!
I talked with another FCA sponsor Kellie Jensen about FCA and Emma. She talked about how well-rounded Emma is in balancing her athletics, her music, her academics and her leadership. Kellie spoke of Emma’s dedication and commitment to all the things she is involved with in her busy life.
Emma’s brightest smile came when she talked about her music. She is involved in Show Choir, Concert Choir and Jazz Choir plus her school musical. She made All-State Choir last year and Girls Choir. She was No. 1 in state last year in Girl’s Choir.
Emma talked about becoming a physician assist with a missionary emphasis. As I talked with her, I could see that happening. She will allow God to lead her life and good things are ahead for Emma Sullivan!
