Enid’s Dennom Sullivan – Teacher Spotlight – Presented by Ricks Pharmacy

Dennom Sullivan has dedicated more than two decades to Enid High School, where he teaches U.S. Government and serves as the varsity baseball coach. Since taking over the baseball program in 2001, Sullivan has built a reputation for leadership, hard work and passion for both athletics and education.

Over the years, Sullivan has coached several sports at Enid High, including football, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. His commitment to helping students grow both on and off the field is evident in everything he does. In addition to coaching, Sullivan serves as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) sponsor, mentoring students in faith, teamwork and character.

A lifelong lover of baseball, Sullivan played collegiately at Phillips University and Western Oklahoma State College before finishing his playing career at West Texas A&M. His time as a player helped shape his coaching philosophy. He recognized all that athletics gave to him growing up, and he wanted to give back.

Sullivan said teaching is one of his greatest joys.

“I enjoy teaching anything about history,” Sullivan said.

When he’s not in the classroom or on the field, Sullivan enjoys spending time outdoors. His favorite hobbies include hunting and fishing, activities that allow him to relax and appreciate nature.

Family plays a central role in Sullivan’s life, and he draws constant encouragement from those closest to him.

“My family inspires me,” said Sullivan. “I have a wonderful, Godly wife named Jennifer, and two beautiful kids.

Sullivan’s kids, Brock and Emma are 20 and 18 years old.

“Watching my children follow their passions brings me so much joy,” Sullivan added.

Whether he’s coaching a game, teaching a history lesson, mentoring students through sports or FCA, Sullivan’s dedication remains 100 percent. His influence at Enid High continues to shape the lives of countless students and athletes, leaving a lasting legacy rooted in faith, family and education.
