Head coach Kylee Vestal takes over a program coming off a 22-win season, but the focus is not on last season. For coach Vestal it’s about bringing younger players up to speed and filling some of the holes left by graduation. “This year’s team is very young,” said coach Vestal. “We will strive to play our games with the “Defense leads to good offense” motto.” Emma Spring (Sr.) is one of those players coach Vestal will lean on for quality minutes this season. “Emma is a senior with a versatile game,” said coach Vestal. “She can aggressively post up while being able to stretch out the defense and shoot the three.” Sophia Cutruzzula (Jr.) will start at guard alongside Kate Spring (So.). The pair make a formidable team in the backcourt. Also look for Caitlin Busch (So.) and Brinley Buchanan (So.) to see time at guard as well. Buchanan is considered a fantastic overall athlete and will help this team on both ends of the floor. Cambree Kirchner (Fr.) is a new face to the team, but she is already making her presence felt. Kirchner is willing to do all the little things to help the team succeed. From fighting for loose balls to battling for rebounds, Kirchner is willing to put in the work.
