PACER SOFTBALL…a season in the making!

Pacer head softball coach Chris Jensen took over a struggling Pacer softball program in 2020. After a couple of losing seasons, Coach Jensen has had five winning seasons including this year’s 31-0 record. He is 157-75 in seven seasons. The best is yet to come. The Class 6A playoffs begin in October and the Pacers will host a regional.
This has been a calculated process not an event. Coach Jensen has built the culture year-by-year, created team bonding, coached the players, and developed a winning tradition. He has a good coaching staff in Jaicee Stinson, Chris Percival and Matt Reed. Coach Jensen has really solid players. Five seniors, three of the seniors have signed to play at the next level. There have been significant contributors up and down the line-up all season. Players off the bench to hit home runs, get clutch hits, make solid defensive plays. It has been a team effort from the start. Talking about his seniors, Coach Jensen said his seniors are “good human beings with great parents, great academics and a true selflessness about them.”
There are key plyers like junior right-hander Gracie Combrink. She has pitched over 118 innings. Her record is 20-0 with 214 strikeouts. Opponents are batting just .126 with 35 walks. Combrink has 600 career strike-outs! Add-in seniors like Cassidy Patterson (shortstop), Andee Raser (first base), Kynlee Adams (third base), and Palmer Pasby (catcher) who have all contributed with big hits, RBIs and stellar defensive plays. Sophomore slap-hitter and speedster Capri Mark is a talented player that is already drawing the attention of college scouts.
This is a season in progress. Games to be played including a Class 6A regional in Enid. The Pacers take it one game at a time. They do not get ahead of themselves. They know they will get every opponent’s best shot. No distractions! Just play the game the way Pacer softball competes!
