Carrie: Enid cheer head coach
VYPE: How long have you been at Enid?
Carrie: I have been coaching for five years in Enid, this will be my second year as head coach.
VYPE: What other school have you coached at?
Carrie: I have only coached for Enid Public Schools.
VYPE: What made you want to get into coaching?
Carrie: Cheer has kept me focused and motivated when I was younger, my coaches helped me through a lot. I love sharing my passion for the sport with our athletes.
VYPE: What do you enjoy most about coaching?
Carrie: I enjoy watching the athletes grow and accomplish their goals.
VYPE: What have been some of the highlights of your coaching career?
Carrie: Some highlights have been watching the program grow and the athletes work hard to improve.
VYPE: Who are some coaches that have impacted or influenced you or your career?
Carrie: My all star coach Orson Sykes really showed me how fun cheer is and what potential I had. I look up to him, his kindness and toughness coaching is what kept me focused right before college.
VYPE: Why do you think athletics are important for student-athletes?
Carrie: Athletics is important because of the life lessons it teaches you along the way. It is also great for your physical and mental health in the right setting.
