Coming off a 9-22 season, the Enid Pacers volleyball program enters the fall determined to turn experience and toughness into wins on a demanding schedule. Guided by head coach Valerie Francisco, now in her seventh year with the program and third as head coach, Enid has embraced a sharpened mindset built around competitiveness and growth. In the middle, senior Karen Gomez anchors the front line as a dominant presence at the net. Her rise over the past three years, powered by relentless work and passion for the game, has shaped her into an elite varsity performer. Her blocking and attacking ability set the tone for Enid’s defense and offense, and her growth from determined underclassman to reliable senior leader gives the Pacers a steady foundation up front.
Junior Nayeli Quezada provides the team with rare versatility, serving as a true all-around weapon. Her ability to set, attack from the right side, and contribute as a six-rotation threat on the outside allows Enid to adjust on the fly and tailor lineups to match any opponent. With a high volleyball IQ and the confidence to impact every phase of play, Nayeli steps into a central role as a junior leader for this group.
Sophomore talents add another layer of promise to the Pacers’ outlook. Marley Smith brings natural timing as a blocker and impressive leaping ability, skills she began honing during her freshman season as she prepared to compete at the next level. Her quick lateral movement and closing speed at the net make her a disruptive defensive force. Fellow sophomore middle blocker Makenna Wright embodies the program’s culture with her upbeat attitude, tireless work ethic, and team-first approach.
