Coaches play a big role in the life of the athletes that they coach. Not only do they help them learn the sport they are playing, but they also help them grow into solid people and citizens. Trinit Zweifel says that one of the coaches he had early on in his career made such an impact that he uses some of the techniques to this day.
“The biggest role model in my life would be my youth coach, Marcus Herrera,” he said. “He helped me become the man I am today, as well as teaching me a lot of my wrestling skills I know and use today.”
Zweifel is a senior at Enid high school. He is in his eighth season wrestling and says that while he has had some really great moments, there is one that stands out at the top of his list.
“The biggest highlight of my career so far has been winning the Greco state title,” he said. “That was a really awesome experience but I am also looking forward to what I will be able to do this season.”
The success that Trinit has enjoyed over his career is not something that just happened overnight. It took a lot of work for him to become his best.
“I would say what has made me successful today has been dedicating my time and effort into the sport I love,” he stated. “And also continually being coachable goes a long way.”
In the classroom at Enid, Trinit has sat through the lessons of numerous teachers. While they all taught something different, there is one teacher that he says made the biggest impact on him.
“My favorite teacher would be Ms. Garis, my sixth grade math teacher,” he recalled. “She was one of the kindest and down to earth teachers I have had.”
